Familias de Colores for organizations and teams

We're not here to evaluate your team. We're here to get it playing.

A workplace wellbeing experience for teams who spend all day together and almost never see each other beyond their job titles. Nobody competes here, and that's exactly why things come up that never surface in a meeting.

Teams today

They share goals. They rarely share the truth.

The load isn't always where you can see it. A team can hit every target and still have someone carrying far more than anyone acknowledges. Nobody brings it up in the weekly check-in.

Company values stay on the wall. They're framed and hung up, but rarely lived in the same language inside the actual team.

There's no shortage of workshops. What's missing is playing for real. There are team activities, engagement surveys and motivational talks. What's rare is a complete space, with an opening, a journey and a closing, where people tell each other real things, with care and without overexposing themselves.

What's the session like?

This isn't your generic team building.

It's a four-hour session where a real team of 8 to 15 people, with its real hierarchy, travels through the colors of the game together. Each color brings a card for professional self-reflection. It doesn't ask for confessions or personal vulnerability: it asks for honesty about how each person uses their strength, their care and their silence within the team.

Between colors, short cards built around movement and laughter give the group room to breathe. Everything is held by an explicit confidentiality agreement: nothing said in the circle ever makes its way into a performance review.

It can take place at your offices or off-site. The facilitator brings all the materials.

A foundation you won't find in any other workshop

Art, color and anthroposophy in service of your team.

Familias de Colores isn't an exercise pulled from a manual. It grows out of anthroposophy, the spiritual science of Rudolf Steiner that gave rise to Waldorf education, biodynamic farming and art therapy, and out of Goethe's theory of color. It works with the four temperaments, with the cultivation of the twelve senses, and with a salutogenic approach: instead of looking for what's wrong with a team, it strengthens what keeps it healthy.

The session is designed and facilitated by Cristiam Herrán Acevedo, a Fine Arts graduate with more than twenty-five years of experience working with communities. Today Cristiam is going deeper through a four-year training in Anthroposophic Art Therapy, the source of this game's foundations. That's why color here isn't decoration and play isn't a break: they're well-grounded tools that help a team see itself.

Teams have temperaments, too

It's not myth or mysticism.

Every team, like every person, has a dominant temperament. A sales team tends to decide and adapt quickly; a quality team digs deep and stays on top of the details. Neither is better than the other: each one solves something different, and each one gets thrown off balance in its own way if nobody names it.

  • Choleric: decides and acts fast. Risk: steamrolls others, doesn't listen before deciding.
  • Sanguine: quick and open to what's new. Risk: gets scattered, nothing ever matures.
  • Phlegmatic: steady, in it for the long haul. Risk: gets stuck, misses opportunities.
  • Melancholic: deep, attentive to detail. Risk: shuts down, says little, carries everything alone.

The four temperaments are the historical forerunner of profiling tools the corporate world already uses, like DISC and Belbin. The game isn't trying to change your team's temperament: it gives each one what it needs to find balance with the others.

What each color asks the team

A mirror of how you really lead and work together.

  • Red · What decision is waiting for its first step?
  • Orange · Who on the team haven't we recognized enough?
  • Yellow · What have we gone too long without saying clearly?
  • Green · Who's carrying more than anyone notices?
  • Blue · What urgent thing is distracting us from what really matters?
  • Violet · What way of working no longer serves us, even if it once did?

What the team takes away

A team that speaks honestly works differently the next day.

  • A shared language for talking about workload, care and recognition within the team.
  • A space where leaders and team members listen to each other without a performance review in the middle.
  • A lived read, not a survey, of where the team is out of balance.
  • An exercise you can come back to: when the team meets again, it picks up where it left off.

It starts with one team. Later, that same team can meet again after some time, or the session can be brought to other areas of the company, each with its own circle.

FAQ

What makes it different from other wellbeing activities?

Its foundations: anthroposophy, Goethe's theory of color, the four temperaments and art therapy, brought together in a cooperative game with an opening, a journey and a closing. It's not a talk or a one-off icebreaker.

Is it a team-building activity?

It's a wellbeing and team-bonding experience, but not generic team building. There's no competition and no winners: it's a complete session, with an opening, a journey and a closing, so the team can see each other beyond their job titles.

How many people can take part?

A real team of 8 to 15 people. Larger teams are split into several circles.

How long does it last?

Four hours: just enough time to experience it without rushing.

Is what's said in the circle confidential?

Yes. The session follows an explicit confidentiality agreement: nothing said ever makes its way into a performance review.

Can it be run in English?

Yes. The game is fully adapted for English speakers, which makes it a good fit for international and bilingual teams.

How much does it cost?

We put together a proposal based on your team's size and the format. Reach out and let's talk.
